Emergency Response
Ironclad Provides Rapid Response in T-Oil Spill
Download Case Study PDFIn late summer of 2025, Ironclad’s Baltimore team received a call at 7 p.m.: A transformer had exploded on a job site in D.C., causing a major spill of T-Oil, a substance that is recordable in quantities as small as an ounce—so 250 gallons required urgent response to minimize contamination. Frac tanks and roll-off boxes were needed — immediately.
The Challenge
With a job site located in D.C. and an evening forecasted with continuous rain, nothing about this emergency was simple. Getting tanks into a compact city environment is never easy, and the falling rain was carrying and spreading the T-Oil rapidly. The client knew getting tanks set up to help them manage a contaminated well was vital.
The Response
Average industry response time for an emergency of this variety is four hours; Ironclad had the first frac tank on-site within two hours.
The Outcome
Thanks to a coordinated effort between our Baltimore and Philadelphia branches, two frac tanks and two roll-offs were ultimately delivered for initial response. Ironclad also provided the client with:
- Delivery and set up of berms, fittings, and hoses to empower the client to remove contaminated water, should they choose to utilize a vacuum truck.
- The capability to provide waste hauling, when an approved and permitted TSDF is prepped for disposal.
