Glycol & Deicing Fluid Storage Tank Rentals
Bulk storage for glycol-based deicing and anti-icing fluid, delivered to your airport and ready before the first storm. Double-wall containment and 24/7 delivery available.
Winter weather moves fast, and so does ice. When snow or freezing rain hits, airports need large volumes of deicing fluid ready at a moment's notice to keep aircraft safe and flights on schedule. That means having bulk glycol storage staged on site, full, and ready before the first storm arrives.
Bulk Glycol Storage, Delivered and Ready
Ironclad supplies high-capacity storage tanks built for glycol-based deicing and anti-icing fluids. Each tank holds up to 21,000 gallons, and tanks can be manifolded together when you need more reserve on hand. We stock steel frac tanks local to many major airports, run our own delivery fleet, and handle setup and end-of-season removal so your crews stay focused on the airfield.
- High-capacity tanks holding up to 21,000 gallons each
- Manifold configurations for high-volume reserves
- Double-wall steel frac tanks for secondary containment
- Spill containment berms for added environmental protection
- Steel frac tanks stocked local to many major airports
- 24/7 delivery, setup, and removal with our own drivers
Why Airports Rent Glycol Storage
Deicing is a seasonal need. Renting gives you the storage capacity for the months you need it, without the cost of permanent infrastructure or year-round maintenance.
- Seasonal flexibility, on site only for the winter months
- Lower cost than building and maintaining permanent tanks
- Scale capacity up or down as demand and aircraft mix change
- We remove the equipment once the season ends
Built for Safety and Compliance
Glycol storage at airports is regulated, and spills carry real environmental and financial risk. Double-wall tanks and spill containment berms add a second layer of protection against leaks, helping your operation meet FAA and environmental requirements while keeping crews and the surrounding area safe.
How Glycol Deicing Fluid Storage Works
Deicing fluids are glycol-based, and how they are stored and applied affects both safety and cost.
Propylene vs. ethylene glycol: Both lower the freezing point of water. Propylene glycol is the more environmentally friendly choice, while ethylene glycol performs well but calls for careful handling to limit ecological impact.
Holdover time and concentration: Holdover time is how long the fluid keeps ice from reforming on the wings. Crews adjust glycol concentration to match conditions, raising it for harsher weather and balancing it against cost.
Strategic tank placement: Tanks staged near deicing access points let ground crews treat aircraft just before takeoff, cutting wait times and keeping departures on schedule.
